Cheryl and Andrea utilize their combined experience in visual merchandising, marketing and customer service to create an elevated experience for their estate sale shoppers and to treat their clients' belongings with the utmost respect. Cheryl caught the retail bug early on in her career and as a result held several positions in Visual Merchandising Management for Gap, Kids Footlocker and Nine West, in stores and at the corporate level. There she cultivated a keen eye for design, helping companies promote their products and brand through visual displays.
Cheryl has always enjoyed home decorating, design and renovation with an affinity for older homes and decor, and she loves changing things up in her own home to keep it fresh and new. Her love for estates sales began spending weekends going to sales with her mom. Cheryl loves taking something old and giving it new life with either a coat of paint or new fabric.
Owning Hudson Valley Estate Works has let Cheryl combine her love of home furnishings, antiques and collectibles with her knowledge of retail. Specifically, Cheryl values the customer experience which includes everything from a warm greeting when they walk through the door, personal service, great products that are merchandised well, competitive prices and a genuine appreciation for their business.
Before launching Hudson Valley Estate Works, Andrea enjoyed a career in high-tech marketing, managing marketing communications for companies such as Naya Energy, Visible Markets, Rational Software, Lois Paul & Partners, Lotus Development Corp. and AdValue Media Technologies. She helped clients increase visibility through brand development, public relations, advertising, social media marketing, and industry events.
Andrea developed a love for antiques and collectibles as a young girl and still enjoys going to estate sales and flea markets to search for unique finds. Her weakness is used books, and she has rescued hundreds of them.
Andrea's goal is to provide clients with a conscientious service that helps alleviate some of the stress and difficulties associated with liquidating their belongings. Andrea and Cheryl take the time to listen to their clients' needs and to stage, photograph, research, price and market their items to the public. Marketing clients' sales through multiple advertising and social media outlets enables Hudson Valley Estate Works to reach targeted shoppers and maximize the outreach for each estate sale.
